A children’s project was also painted and decorated by the smaller children to take to local nursing homes.

Remodelers Council Wins Two CADRES
The Remodelers Council of Lincoln was honored with two CADRE Awards (Council Awards for Demonstrating Remodeling Excellence) at the 2006 Annual NAHB Remodelers Council Gala in Chicago.
Alissa Johnson was presented the Outstanding Council Coordinator CADRE. This award is presented annually to a Council Coordinator for his or her outstanding contribution to the local council.
The Remodelers Council of Lincoln also received the CADRE for Government Affairs/Legislation. Council Chair Brian Senkbeil accepted the award on behalf of the Council. In 2003, the Nebraska Legislature passed a bill that added sales tax to contractor labor for home improvement, repair or remodeling. The tax placed an undue burden on remodelers and homeowners, and when the governor and a few senators expressed interest in repealing the sales tax, the Remodelers Council acted. With the help of a multi-pronged grassroots strategy with an extremely small budget, the tax was repealed in 2006, with the Council Chair being invited to the signing of the bill.
The Remodelers Council of Lincoln is currently the 6th largest council with 129 member companies.
